About ESWF

Empowering young girls across Nigeria to become confident, resilient leaders.

Our Story

Empowering Sisters Welfare Foundation (ESWF) is a CAC-registered charity and a Nigerian-based non-profit organisation founded by Lauren Daji in 2020. We work towards ending period poverty and gender-based violence in Nigeria while empowering girls to unlock their potential by overcoming barriers to their success.

The inspiration behind ESWF came from Lauren’s personal experiences witnessing young girls across various communities in Lagos struggle with accessing basic menstrual products, as well as the damaging effects of gender-based violence and female genital mutilation (FGM). Observing their resilience despite limited resources fueled her passion to create change.
At ESWF, we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of period poverty and eliminating gender-based violence through education, advocacy, and providing access to sustainable menstrual hygiene products. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every girl deserves the opportunity to thrive, free from the constraints of poverty, stigma, and violence.

How We Work

Outreach School Visits

We visit local schools across Lagos and Nigeria, distributing reusable menstrual products and hosting educational sessions on menstrual health, hygiene, and wellness.

Continuous Support System

Our office remains open year-round, allowing girls to collect products whenever needed. We also provide a WhatsApp text-to-talk support line for ongoing guidance and assistance.

1:1 Mental Wellness Support

We offer personalised mental health support through qualified wellness practitioners, available via phone calls, video sessions, or in-person meetings.

Mental Health Outreach

Our mental health programme provides personalised 1:1 support from qualified mental wellness practitioners and counsellors. Each session is tailored to the individual needs of the young girls we serve, addressing the emotional and psychological challenges they face.
Support is available through phone calls, video calls, or in-person sessions at our office, ensuring accessibility and flexibility to accommodate various preferences and circumstances. This personalised approach helps build trust and creates a safe space for girls to express their concerns, fears, and aspirations.
We focus on empowering young girls to navigate difficult situations, develop resilience, and build mental strength, so they can overcome barriers and thrive in their communities.
